Our Principles

Here at The Speech and Swallow Clinic we believe in person centred therapy and in supporting you to achieve real-life goals.

Person-centred therapy means the person receiving therapy leads the conversation. It involves working together to share decisions and plan care. Each therapy goal is specific to you and what you want to achieve.

We are neurodiversity-affirming, meaning we listen to neurodivergent voices and celebrate difference. In assessment and intervention, we strive to foster self-autonomy and self-determination and assume potential and competence of all of our clients, regardless of their diagnosis.

We also believe the most effective therapy occurs when support is given in the environment where the person lives, learns, works or plays. We are a mobile clinic, which means we can do just that - provide therapy in a space that works for you.
